Vaio Pocket is good, but.......

Hallo there are view points, which I dont like at my vaio pocket:
* there is no possibility to use it without the docking station to connect it with a PC* (thats bad)
*the picture viewing is to slow and a picture overview had been a must, because I have to click from one picture to an other, to get this one I want to have*
......and my old story : where are the accessoires like for the iPod ( iTrip, pockets.......)

SONY-ADDICTS???

That's me !

Financially, my addiction has probably done me more harm than if I had become addicted to a class A drug, LOL

Personally, I think the VAIO POCKET is one of their weakest designs in recent years.... ....I don't like the button matrix and having to always use the cradle is just silly.

You would think that with Sony's profits tumbling as badly as they currently are, they would make more effort!

Lets hope the next iteration is better. :smileythinking:

Also it is not possible to play more than one album at a time unless you put them into one of the five play lists and then delete afterwards (you cannot select play in album list view).

I was hoping I could use this device also as a store for photos taken with my digital camera (to save buying more memory cards etc) when on vacation etc.

However, you can only transfer from a camera when you
A. Have mains power
B. Have the docking station.

Thus I might as well drag along my laptop and leave Vaio Pocket at home.

How also did they not manage to get the device to start reading into ram the next album track before the end of play of the last one?
This frankly amazes me. How could they be so dumb?

Also depending on how much ram the unit has (does anyone know?) the unit may have been able to read in several tracks at once thus conserving battery power (assuming the units LCD display is off so album art is not required - or again, perhaps this could also be held in ram?).

Last question
Does anyone from Sony ever respond to threads at this forum or offer advice?

Automan.

Nope

You know what you should get Automan? An iPod Photo with a Belkin card reader.

With this system it stores the photos on the iPod so you can carry on snapping!

@Automan:

-wrong! U CAN transfer photos from DigiCams without main power!
-i tryed myself with the DSC-V3 and it worked (altoght kind bit of slow)
-also if u get the proper USB-Cable u don´t need the cradle.
-some USB-cables from Siemens PocketPCs may work (i.e. Siemens PocketLoox 410 has the same connector).

Áll other complains may/can be corrected via firmware update.
