VAIO Power Managements does not work under Vista

I've taken my VGN-S5XP up to Vista Home Premium by doing a full clean install and have added in the VAIO compliant software and apps from the support site however I can't seem to get the Power Management working, if I click on it just says it's not enabled and I should enable it in the Power Options in Control Panel. To be honest there doesn't seem to be way of 'enabling' it I can just select a VAIO Optimized Plan but this isn't the same thing.

My VAIO is constantly running on high fan and removing the power lead does not take the screen down to lower useage or any of the other power saving modes from before. Also the Function + F5 (screen dim) buttons no longer work.

Anyone had a similar problem?

Cheers

Neil

Hi Neil.

There are no Vista Drivers or Utilities for the S-Series yet - you must have downloaded the XP Drivers?

When they are available you will find them HERE
