VAIO VGN-FE31H - Problem with dedicated volume buttons

I have recently noticed a problem with my Vaio VGN-FE31H...

Each time i try to increase, decrease or mute the volume using the dedicated buttons on the notebook my mouse becomes disabled. I say disabled, i am still able to move the cursor round the screen but am unable to select or click anything or use the keyboard and have no option but to turn off and off again. This only happens when one of the volume buttons is pressed. :slight_frown:

Very strange.

Has anyone else had similar symptoms or know how to fix the problem?

Many Thanks.

Hi huwd20

This usually resolves the FN keys not working but I'm not sure if it will work in your situation, download the Preinstalled Utilities for your FE31H from Vaio-Link, once downloaded extract and then install the following, in order.

1 Sony Utilities
2 Sony Shared Library
3 Vaio Event Service

Once completed then re-boot your vaio.

You may have to do this more than once..:smileywink:
