Vaio processor fan

I wonder can anyone help me, I have a Vaio PCG-GRT896SP and the fan is constantly running on it now, so I think its time for a new fan, can anyone direct me to the name of the part and also where I can order it, I'm based in Ireland but I'm sure I could order the part online? Any thoughts anybody?Thanks

Hi roc100 and welcome to Club Vaio.

It may not necessarily be the fan that is the problem but build up of dust that is preventing proper cooling.

I suggest that you download MobileMeter, check your CPU temperature, then clean the cooling vents and then compare the results.

HERE is a general guide to cleaning the vents but with the GRT series it is often necessary to open it up and thoroughly clean the fan and ducting vents.
