VAIO VGC V3S & Internet Explorer 7

I have a VAIO VGC V3S Desktop. I have recently downloaded and installed Windows IE7.
A SmartBridge Alert: MotiveSB.exe - Entry Point Not Found Window is displayed.
Inside this window is a statement:-
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL

Does anyone know what this means and how to rectify.
I have removed IE7 and reverted to IE6 and the problem disappears.

A second attempt at reinstallation of IE7 produced the same error window.

Many thanks

Best Wishes
Graham

Hi Wessog,

Welcome to Club vaio,

I'm not sure if the solution here will help you..?

I am not sure that the solution will be the same for you.
I had a problem with Macromedia Contribute 3.x, which is incompatible with IE 7.0 and on their support web page the solution is to rename/delete the file or revert to IE 6.0.

Are you using BT Broadband?

If pmitev's solution does not work try: -

Start -> Run -> type in msconfig and Enter. Go to start up programs. disable Motive SB which is related to Verizon DSL and reboot.

Alternatively, you may have too many copies of PSAPI.DLL on your system and IE7 is picking up an old version. Do a Start -> Search and look for all the files with this name on your C:\ drive. Copy the most recent version to C:\Windows\System32

Many thanks for the advice.
I have done as you suggested and checked for all versions of PSAPI.DLL on my drives.
I have renamed them as PSAPIOLD.DLL with the exception of the one in C:\Windows\System32.
It appears there were too many in the NTL folders (I have ntl cable connection to the internet).
All is now well with IE7.
I have also checked a copy of microsoft groups and the fault is also being reported by folk who are with NTL and trying to install IE7.
Many thanks once again for your help.

Best regards
Graham
