I have a VAiO notebook VGN-T1XP.
It worked fine until today the eject button of the DVD drive stopped working.
When you press it, the small amber coloured LED blinks a few times, but no solenoid release can be heard and the drive will not open.
Likewise when you press a software based eject button, i.e. in windows explorer right click menu, or in sonicstage, the light blinks, but no movement.
There is a tiny pin hole below the manual eject button that looks like a reset button.
Poking a paper clip into it does nothing.
HELP!!!
Hi there.
This happened to me also (whilst on holiday) about a month or so after I bought my laptop.
If you press the pinhole with something smaller -( I used the eye end of a needle) it will open - the pinhole is a manual release. I got this advice from a Sony dealer whilst on holiday in Australia and it worked. Also I have not had this problem since.
Hope this works for you.
I think you need to reinstall the VAIO Utilities (utils.exe) from C:\Utils
yes. It resolve my problem.
