Very Confused! Does the VGN-FE41Z have 128mb or 256mb dedicated vram!?

Hey all,

Can anyone tell me if the VGN-FE41Z has either 128mb or 256mb dedicated vram for the 7600 graphics card?

Im very confused because on THIS page it says it has 256mb however on THIS page it says its only got 128mb!

Ive checked sony vaio page and it doesnt have any info on how much dedicated memory it has on the grapics cards...

Your Graphics card in your System is the NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7600 GPU, This is the confusing part for Some your card is 256MB Dedicated graphics & video card so 256MB is what it is, However (This the confusing part) Out of the 256MB / 128bit (Half) is used as DDR2(800MHz effective) ram as they run different parts of the GPU So in total you have 256MB Dedicated to your graphics part of it for the DDR2 ram giving you approximately 12.8 GB/s Memory Bandwidth.

According to the Sony Specs your FE41Z has a nVidia GeForce Go 7600 with 128 MB DDR..

However SonyStyle state NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7600 notebook graphics processing unit with Total Available Graphics Memory of 399 MB and dedicated Video Memory of 128 MB

You can check what your Vaio has in Display Properties > Settings tab > Advanced > GForce tab

That link only states the Video memory of the nVvida card why? as this is only the DDR dedicated part What about the other 128Mb for the GPU & the working of the card. Do you think this is an over look on Sonys part or are they simply stating what Memory is there for Video tasks which is un-touched, I gont know of any shipped nVidia GeForce Go 7600(GPU) with only 128MB mmmmmmm The Ginger one is now confused.
