VGN-A215M DVD-Rom Writer dosen´t read CD-Rom´s even original

Hi there I bought two weeks ago a new VGN-A215M Laptop . The DVD-Writer plays DVD´s perfect but he don´t plays Original Programms on CD-Rom and original Audio CD´s and obviousliy burned CD-Roms even if I oppen the Win Explorer the inserted disc seems empty does anyone know about this problem or how to solve it

This definately should'nt be happening!

It sounds as if there is a problem with the CD laser in the drive.

As the laptop is new I would take it back to the retailer you brought it from and demand a replacement (not fit for purpose, merchantable quality etc.)
