VGN-A297XP Memory Upgrade

Hi,
What is the maximum memory upgrade for the A297XP laptop?

I've read it goes to 1024 MB maximum in some places and others suggest 2048 MB.

Which is correct?

1GB sticks are FAR too expensive at the moment.
1GB of RAM total is good enough

Hello,

After some investigation, I can give you an explanation:

you can technically use the 1GB to reach 2GB but SONY don't sell those. And if you use non Sony memory module, you are loosign your guarantee... therefore, max is 1024.

I can barely imagine the price Sony would charge if they did sell 1GB memory cards - it would run into thousands of GBP no doubt

The solution of course is to remove any third party cards before making any warranty claim.
