VIDEO OUT

Hi, I've recently purchased a VAIO K115B laptop. ON the left hand side, is a video out socket - at time of purchase I was expecting this to be a S-VIDEO / PHONO connection but it's not! How do I link my VAIO to my TV? Any ideas on what cables I need to do this?

Thanks

Solution V00017

Description:

How do I connect a TV to my VAIO that uses ATI Radeon 345M?

Solution:

Connect an AV cable to the video out of your VAIO and connect the other end to the video in of your TV.
Make sure that you have selected the correct channel on your TV.
Press FN + F7.
Use the Cursor keys to select the appropriate option where option 1 will display on the internal laptop display, option 2 will display on both the internal display and the TV and option 3 will only display on the TV.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 to alter your settings again. If your display is in black and white then check if your TV out is set to the correct TV standard.

You need Sony part VMC20FR or it's equivalent. Maplin do a generic cable that is the same but make sure you get the correct one as there are two types.

Sonystyle do the cable for about £10, Maplin is about a fiver.
