VIsta Install on laptop designed for XP Pro

Hi

Is there anything I should know or check before either upgrading or making a clean install to Vista Ultimate on my Sony VGN-BX196SP?

Could not find any Vista specific support on the Sony site; only for re-installing XP Pro.

Microsoft Vista Upgrade Advisor

this will advise you of how your system will cope with Vista.

Sony do provide Drivers and Utilities for upgrading to Vista here: -

My guess is that the Intel 915GM Graphics chip is NOT Vista capable - so it will not be possible to display any Aero Effects or advanced graphics in Vista. this is unfortunate because (in my humble opinion) this is the only worthwhile reason to upgrade to Vista!
