Wasn't there gonna be some laptops with changeable graphics cards?

A while back I read about it in a notebook and pda magazine. It estimate was that it should be released sometime this year but I've never heard from the topic again.
You guys think this hardware will come, it'll be great in my opinion.

Some, like the Evesham Quest A630 already have this technology. In fact the Evesham has TWO X 256MB Go 7800 GTXs in SLi and is almost as big as a desktop.

But it is new technology and there is (as far as I know) no standard interface yet. Until a standard interface is agreed, there is no guarantee that the cards will be upgradable as this relies on manufacturers continuing to support your particular interface.

Sony, perhaps wisely, has not yet entered this arena.

It's not cheap, nor easy to carry around. Give it time, you'll be amazed at what a few years can do to this industry.

Personally I'm waiting for the car you don't have to drive so I can finally drive!
