I have a Vaio A397XP and I used the recovery discs yesterday. Now my screen have crapped totaly.

Before i got the screen stretched to the full display, and I liked that.

Now the screen whants to give me a normal screen and black on the sides. (like widescreen on old tv but on the sides)

What to do? i hate it!

It is mainly when i play games!

What have you got the screen display resolution set to?

It should be 1920 X 1200 32 bit

Control Panel -> Display -> Settings

Check your Game's settings to get the nearest to 16:10

You could also try Fn + F8 to enable screen expansion....

screen expansion, that sounds like what i need. But Fn + F8 did not work. where can i do it else?

Right-click the screen of your VAIO and select Properties.
In the Display Properties window, select the Settings tab and click Advanced.

Select the tab for your graphics card and the setting is usually in there somewhere.

On some Vaios, Fn + F also works.

its allso seems like i oly can have 60fps... and that is just stupid. Where can i change that?

60Hz is right for an LCD screen.

i fixed that... but how to make the screen wider.... i am tierd of playing in a box
