XL100: Red light on, what does it mean?

I have had my XL-100 for 3 years & love it. However, recently I noticed that the red led on the right hand-side keeps coming on (not blinking, steady on & then off, then comes back on a good bit later). Is this an error code light? Should I be worried? How do I diagnose?

Don't worry.
It is the infrared sensor receiving light.
Have you got a plasma tv?

Whew! Thanks for the comforting reply!
I had read a post from someone before saying that his light was an error code light. But funny enough last night when I turned off my living room light I noticed the red light went off. So with living room light back on I covered the IR sensor with my finger & sure enough it went off! D'oh! [:">]

FYI- no I have a Samsung LCD TV, one IR blaster placed over my cable STB IR sensor & I had to replace the original wireless keyboard with a Logitech diNovo Edge (with a USB dongle for Blutooth connection). Don't know if any of that is relevant?

When my plasma TV is on the red light is on too.
My configuration is like your but keyboard is the original one.
BTW the red light is not a problem: yet another Christmas light! 😉
