How to open downloads

Sometimes I download files succesfully, but when I try to open them it flags "cannot open file"

How can I open these?

What type of file have you downloaded, one reason could be is that the file is not compatable with the apps that you have on your tablet..:smileyconfused:

I donot know what type of file ot is, it was a page from National archives about a MM medal my father got in WW1. It opened ok on my desktop .

Hi,

have a look in Downloads the file type info we need is the part after the file name, ie filename.pdf..

Hi,

I'm guessing the file should be a.zip file, is there an alternative type of file that you can download.?

Alternatively you would need to download an app to your tablet something like..

ES File Explorer  File Manager

WinZip

AndroZip

Thankyou very much. Successfully installed Androzip, did the job. It took two days to sign up to the Sony website, but it was worth the wait. Very impressive response , expected to wait several days to get answer.
