In bright sunlight, it is impossible to shoot anything. All you see is a bright screen.

Hey,

If you have tried turning the iso down, and you still can't get the look you want. Then you may need to think about an ND filter. 

The aperture on the mid lens is low (f1.6), which makes it great for dark shots, but less good for light shots.

The other 2 lenses are at f2.4 - which may give better results in the light, but not as good in the dark. Obviously you get the wide or zoom lens, with them.

Ahh you mean in direct sunlight, the sun shining on the screen, you dont see much due to the glare?

8In bright sunlight turn on ADAPTIVE brightness as then it actually goes BRIGHTER than what the slider allows and even in direct sunlight the screen is easily visible.

This is correct. I wonder why it is not possible to set maximum brightness manually.

Do you have a screen protector on your X1? I had a tempered glass protector on mine, and shooting on bright days I may as well have been looking in a mirror it was that bad. I replaced it with a matte screen protector but that just made everything look grainy. I've reluctantly done away with a screen protector now, but at least I can see what I'm shooting on bright days! The only other alternative is some kind of hood.

Lower iso as said, and reduce shutter speed.
