Accidentally dropped one of my x1's in the bath a week ago, whilst it was powered on.
Fished it out and placed it to one side whilst i finished my bath, 30 mins later got dressed and tested. All that was wrong was that the speakers were muffled, so I ran a hair dryer of the speakers for 30 seconds and hey presto all ok.
One week later still charging still playing sound as a good as ever.
You can only trust reviews so much, but its the end-user that matters and I can personally attest to longevity of Sony Phones!
Hello @Gilgameshuk,
thank you for sharing that experience.
i am glad even soapy fresh-water with reduced surface tension doesn't penetrate the protective measures put in place.
With salt water that whole story could have played out quite differently though.

Quite possibly
A few years back saw someone dip an xz2 in a CHLORINE pool for 30 mins it was the only phone that survived
The general advise after submerging the phone for a longer time is to switch it off, dry it and submerge it into dry rice for several hours, preferably a day before switching it on again.
A smartphone is an expensive device, better not take the risk of destroying it.
yup was only in bath for about a second
Biggest question was, what were you doing and what were you going to film in the bath..Going to remake "Jaws", or something! ha-ha! 😁
no . U571 Spot the submarine!
Just kidding
was watching the series The 100
I also photographed with Xperia 1 in the water, there is no need for a hair dryer. My profile picture is half the phone in the water, half the phone out of the water
