Is there an automatic mode in cinema pro like in photo pro?

To clarify I don't own the Xperia 1 II, I use the Xperia 1 and was considering upgrading. In manual modes I noticed you can't get proper HDR, as in if by window keep inside bright and outdoors visible. The photo pro app solves this with Auto HDR, is there something similar that can work in cinema pro where you can go into an automatic mode to do all the settings for you and keep everything clear and visible- kind of like the iPhone (although that records extra frames with lower and higher exposures to get that HDR look)?

No, the cinemaPro App has not a normal Auto-Mode.

The app is very limited. You can select in Auto in Iso and Shutter.

WB has also an Auto mode.

But you have to do this every time you make a video and if it ist to bright or to dark Auto does not funktion you must first manual adjust and than Auto works again.

Also the cinemaPro App does not adjust brightnes in a videorecording. When you start the video it is fixed. So the cinemaPro App is only usabla in very constant situations. In my opinion this app is very useless.

I don't have the device either, but I checked the user guide and all it mentioned about Auto function, is for when you set a feature such as the white balance and then select Auto to have it always set to your preference automatically, here you can check. https://helpguide.sony.net/mobile/xperia-1m2/v1/en/contents/TP0002333845.html

Thanks for the response!

It's good to hear that there is at least automatic selection of shutter speed and iso now as well. A bit disappointed that you have to do this every time you make a video though and unlike the photo pro app there aren't multiple modes such as automatic or manual which you can choose.

I'll wait for the Xperia 1 III (Mk 3) in which hopefully the experience will be a bit more refined. So far from the original Xperia 1 the colour science is really good and the bit-depth is amazing, just needs more sharpness or higher resolution, 4K 120fps HDR recording (fingers crossed, more dynamic range- if I am outdoors and there is shade under a tree, I want the shade and sunny outdoors both clearly exposed), an automatic mode that works fully automatic and if they insist on that one look feel- have an icon with a lock on it (that locks onto one scene and matches iso, shutter speed, white balance automatically then you click on that lock icon and it won't change no matter what but if you click on it to unlock it, the values change by themselves). If they can then mature the technology enough to allow you to manually control white balance change speed/ delay, shutter speed change time etc in settings that would be great and even have presets such as immediate change, slow fade, left to right, right to left change, top to bottom, bottom to top, rather than suddenly changing colours or allow a 'middle-point' white balance if indoors (i.e. where these changing colours are mostly a problem) by rotating 360 degrees with the camera and it picks one white balance for the whole room and then saves that value by geographical location. Stuff like that is what I am waiting for, what would make it even better is if they included something to render footage and edit photos semi-professionally on the phone itself and come back with a brand new photo library (hopefully divided into sections/ folders where it saves Raw images separately, natural-looking JPEG's separately and gives an option to have instagram stylised photos pre-prepared in a separate folder through computational photography.

Unfortunately, I doubt half of this will come true, but if ps5 controllers work exclusively on the Xperia and I can remote-play only on Xperia for the PS5 I'll get it with the hope that Sony increases the resolution from 3840*1644 to 5120*2160 on the display and make it 120Hz branded as 4K+ screen, maybe even do the same in cinema pro- record in 5120*2160 as 4K+ and 3440*1440 as 2K+ and if they somehow add 8K recording, let it be 10240*4320
