My music player keeps crashing.  Can't uninstall it to reinstall it.  It won't let me search for songs.  Please help

Does the music-player support the format of your music? If not, use another player.

Also worth checking that the player has sufficient rigths to access storage for playing music

plug off you sd card, and insert back. Phone will automatically restart and rescan your card. That might solve the problem. Mine as well has this problem. Come with the Photo gallery doesnt work.
