Swipe issues on Xperia 1 ii

I'm having swiping issues, but the phone is responding to swipe.

One example is swiping away a notification on the lock screen. The notification will move to the side, but it doesn't go away. After multiple attempts, it will. It seems to be the length of the swipe, and it varies.

Another example is sliding up on the lockscreen. Sometimes it will allow a 1cm swipe, other times it requires half the screen!

Has anyone else had this issue or know what it is? It feels like a software fault as the screen is responsive to touch.

Hi there, if you have any kind of lock screen security on your phone , it will not allow you to swipe the notification away with Android10, if you don't have any screen lock security, try to enable your phone on safe mode and check if it will do the same thing.

I actually narrowed down the issue.

When the proximity sensor is in poor lighting, such as at night or a dim lit room, it seems to change how swiping on the lock screen works. In adequate lighting, short swipes in up, left or right direction behave as they should (down isn't affected). Should the sensor be covered or in inadequate lighting, short swipes no longer work and you must do long swipes. I suspect this is to prevent accidental swipes while the phone is in a pocket? The setting that disables accidental touching doesn't change the lock screen situation which leaves me to think they are independent of one another.

This can easily be verified by being in adequate lighting and covering the sensor with finger and swiping up on the lock screen to see the difference.

Yes, I agree that they are independent functions, as the sensitivity of the touchscreen slightly being affected on lock-screen according to lighting seems normal.

However about the notifications issue, it's true that in all Android 10 device, if you have a security lock for your screen, regardless PIN, Pass or pattern, it won't enable you to swipe away the notification unless you open it, to ensure that you got your notification, if there's no security lock, you can see the content of the notification and therefore enables you to swipe it away, without having to open it.
