What nice feature it has been when you press the power to either, power off, reboot, take a screenshot or RECORD Screen.
Now on the new XPERIA 1 the Screen record has been removed.
Can Sony please replace this feature?
Hi @M5_Dual_South_Africa, let me see if I can help out here.
As you mentioned, there is no pre-built function that is able to record the screen. However, there is a bunch of different apps available in Play store that has this ability. Keep in mind though that Sony cannot guarantee 100% compatibility with apps manufactured by a third party.
I hope that answered your question!
The screen shot function is there. (just verified on my J9110)
Perhaps screen recording has been by separate app before.
No, it does not help!
If I wanted an app I would have asked the search button on the play store!
It is on my M5 as standard, (Record, Screenshot, Power off and Restart)
So on the XPERIA 1, the Screen Record has been removed.
Correct Screen shot is there but not complaining about screen shot.
The Screen Record where on there as standard on M5, not an app.
Thanks @M5_Dual_South_Africa for the quick reply!
You are correct, some previous models did have a pre-built function enabling you to record the screen, but the last Xperia model that included this function was the Z5-series. If you want to record the screen on your Xperia 1, you are required to download an app with this ability.
I appreciate your input and I will forward your feedback. Let me know if you have any further questions!
I think the no screen recorder is an Android 9 thing, so nothing to do with Sony.
But Android 10 has a built in one.
That is correct @RottenFoxBreath, Android 9 do not have a pre-built screen recorder. Regarding Android 10 I am afraid that i do not have any information regarding whether screen recorder is pre-built or not.
