Hi, I've been using the phone for a while. However, the 5G network doesn't seem to connect. It does when you swap the sim card with a different one, and after 10min it goes to 4G+ for some reason, and it's stuck there until you swap the sim, and the loop keeps going. It never seems to stay 5G.
Yes the phone is in it latest update.
Yes the SIM can connect to 5G. (tested on other 5G devices)
Yes I have a 5G plan.
Yes I have tested this while literally standing under a 5G node.
Yes my service provider supports the 5G bands of the Xperia 1ii.
Yes I've tried multiple sims.
Yes I have contacted my service provider, and they say everything seems fine from their end of things.
Yes I have restarted, and factory reset my device multiple times.
Nothing seems to work too keep my 5G phone stay connected to 5G.
Thank you for your reply @Jess.09 .
It's not in my case, as I have elaborated earlier that using a different devices in the same location gives me 5G connectivity, and I did contact my service provider and they confirmed nothing is wrong in their part. I have tested on multiple devices (Huawei Mate Xs, Huawei 5G mobile WiFi pro, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra)
All of them in the same exact spot and all with 5G connectivity except the Xperia 1 ii. And I tried multiple places too.
So it's not the stability of the network. It's the device itself.
I see, and what happens when you try to select the network mode to (5G only), do you get this option in the phone settings?
Who is the operator, and where are you located.
who is the operator, and where are you located.
I apologize for the late reply.
The options available are:
- 5G/4G/3G/2G
- 4G/3G/2G
- 3G/2G
There is no 5G only option.
It is strange as it was working fine and very well.
I apologize for the late reply.
My operator is Ooredoo and I live in Qatar. The 5G coverage is strong here.
Huawei and Samsung 5G devices work fine with strong signal, My Xperia 1 ii used to work fine with 5G it's only recently that it's not connecting at all.
What changed before this happened? a new app maybe or an update?
Did you test in safe mode?
