My Xperia 5iii was working perfectly this morning I left it for about 5 minutes, came to check something and it just keeps restarting, I have forced it to shut down left it for about an hour but nothing, the phone is less than 3 months old!

First thing to try is remove SIM card and SD card.
Faulty SD cards tend to cause unexpected behaviour.
Sony published a troubleshooting video as well.

Also, to add.
Hold volume up and power button until you feel 3 vibrations to clear the cache out.
This can also kick out some software issues.

Hey there,
You might also want to test the phone is safe mode, to check if it's behaving like this due to a recently downloaded app: https://bit.ly/3ONDVm3.
Hope it helps.

As a last resort you can do the 2 min restart
hold down power and volume up at the same time for 2 mins....... ignore any vibrations and hold for 2 mins.
phone will then power off.
Press power button on and away you go.
