Night mode camera

Did I accidentally discover night mode on Xperia 5? 1st photo AUTO mode, 2nd photo was manual mode with HDR ( all other settings were default/auto)

The thing is my 1st photo was in Fully Auto mode

2nd one was with HDR ( manual mode but all others settings were unchanged )

see the difference

That's why I have 2 photos

Btw XZ3 camera was super bad with that F2.0

I guess you were playing around with ISO settings and shutter speed or was is something else? would be nice to know instead of reading cryptic Headings/Message content

No I didn't change any settings, just switched on manual mode and enabled HDR.

ALL SETTINGS WERE DEFAULT.

I have been using manual mode before, with custom settings but this didn't require any manual adjustments, that's why I was surprised

Smartphones (in general) are quite capable of shooting rather nice pictures in the dark.

This one I took with Xperia XZ3 without any setting set.

Point and shoot.

See the street lights and the light in the house on the right side to estimate how dark it was.

@XperaFan 7, did you switch to manual mode in the stock camera app using the Mode button and then manual, and then switching HDR on on the left?

Also, did you see the differences in the viewfinder (on your phone screen) or after the phone saved them?
