Restoring backed-up files to my phone Xperia Z

Can anyone tell me please how I can restore the photos I backed up to my PC a couple of months ago, to my phone, now I've put in a big SD card? 

Can I see my photos on my PC while they're still in the Backup file? I need them, like yesterday 😞

@andyscribe  do you have xperia 5 or z? Are you trying to restore to a different device?
