I just got a Sony A7ii camera and want to enable eye AF but get an error message saying "this operation or setting not available as follows continuous AF".
I have set the following settings
- Focus area: wide
- autofocus: continuous (AF-C)
- steady shoot: activated
- image type:raw compressed
- face detection: off (I tried on as well)
- exposure: +-0
- ISO: auto
- creative style: standard
- DRO: auto HDR
- white balance: auto
- metering mode: multi
The eye AF is set to as the custom button, the center button as it was in default.
What is it I'm missing?
Hi Poydan,
Welcome to the community.
It seems that the Eye AF function will not work when the Focus Mode is set to Continuous AF or Manual Focus, see here.
You can review the Eye AF section for advice about this function in the help guide.
Best wishes,
Ed
Hi Ed,
Thank you for the reply. I didn't realize my camera model didn't support eye AF with AF-C. Now it make sense why it doesn't work.
Kind regards
Poydan
