Sony A7s3 and the XLR-K3M, 4 x inputs or just 3?

Hi all,

I have both these products, written above in the subject.

Is there a away to plug in 4 x radio mics in to the camera

I have managed x 3

I have achieved this by....

2 radio mics via XLR on K3M

1 radio mic through the mini jack port on K3M

I have a spare channel on the A7s3 spare but cannot add a 4th is this impossible?

Is there a way to input 4 or is the '3' in K3M the give away and it's just 3?

Please share as I know the camera can record 4 audio channels.

I have 4 x channels on camera to use but can only use 3.

Is there another way or can the K3M work with a splitter perhaps?

Many thanks

Hi Reelyreel,

According to the specs of the XLR-K3M the 3rd input is a stereo input. So you should be able to connect 2 microphones by using a Y-adapter.

Cheers

Hi Peter,

Y adaptor, splitter, do Sony make this product, if so, could you share the product code?

Thanks again for all your help!

Hi Reelyreel,

I don't think Sony makes dongles, adapters or splitters any more (if they had before, not sure).

I'd recommend checking your nearest camera/computer shop for a recommendation.

Hi Joe,

I have found a third party mini jack splitter.

Thank you for your reply.

Hi!  now that you've been using this - can you tell me if this is recording to 4 channels of audio on the physical file, or if it's simply mixing the inputs down to 2 channels of audio (a traditional stereo file connected to the video file)
