4K Google Play Movies content streamed via YouTube is limited to 1080p on the SONY AF9

I have contacted Google regarding the above issue as the content plays correctly on my KD-43XE8505. Google claims it is a Sony issue, which cannot be correct considering it is playing via their own YouTube application; the native Google Play Movies app, apparently, cannot play back content in 4K despite the fact they sell you it 

Below os the versions of YouTube running on the respective TV's.
