Bravia core freezing x94j

Hi I have the Sony xr65x94j but I am having problems streaming programs. The film starts but then freezes on pure stream. But on other streaming sites (Netflix, Disney and prime run fine). We have 200mbps Internet. The TV is on WiFi would it work better wired. Also sound keeps dropping but if I switch it to TV sound and then back to sound bar sound comes back.. Any idea why these keep happening.?

Hey,

I have new A90J and have the same issues with Bravia Core freezing,

 

I have a 1gb/s connection and when I test the speed it is always showing over 300mb/s on the tv however it will still freeze, its a bit mental and have to back out of movie then resume to get it going again,

I say it's a fault with the app that needs fixing but sony then need to add the time peoe lose and give its back.. I say its the app cos no other app has this problem. I am also using a tp link USB 3.0 Gigabit ethernet adapter and I'm running over 140mbps and I keeps getting sound loss with mine from the sound bar, so need switch to TV then back to sound bar then it works. Fix the app please sony.

I might get a USD ethernet adapter and see if it makes any difference, I shall let you know.

 

Not had any issues with sound dropping out on my soundbar, im using LG SL8YG with SPK-8 surrounds, I did have really bad lip sync issues however turning off the AV sync in sound menu of TV resolved it mostly but not for all content, different stations through Sky Q act differently and once you see it you cant unsee it.

Hi just tried bravia core agin and still froze after a bit of streaming a film, I am running 140mbps and also not long rest tv but still having issues. All other app work fine (Netflix, Prime and Disney) no issues, only on sony.

That probably means the app itself is not working or something from the Core team side (I haven't seen this issue on the forums before tbh).

 

Speaking of the Core team, have you gotten an update from them recently/after the last time you tried the app?

Yes. When got TV XR65X94J picture and Sound (xf9000 sound bar) both froze. We tried 2 days ago and same happened again. Once the picture kept playing but sound went, had to set tv to TV sound then back to soundbar to get sound again. But last time used picture froze.. I know its the app cos all other apps we use work with no problems.. 😊

I do recall that since I recommended you reach out to the Core team (it was actually a recommendation by the Sony support reps, as they have a team specifically for the new app).

 

That said, did you reach out to them with this last update? (i.e. still freezing after trying all that).

Hi not heard back, did a test 2 days ago with spider man and froze again. Sent another email just now. Hope fully they can fix the app to work properly as you only get one year usage and from when I got TV still not been able to watch a whole film yet. Had tele from about beginning of June.. When was avaliable in currys pc world. UK 🇬🇧.🇬🇧‌. XR-65X94J.

Just catching up on the forum, how is your Bravia Core now?

Seem sony may have done some adjustments as mine never freezes anymore.

Hi tried again at the weekend picture didn't freeze this time but sound to soundbar went off once but was able to watch rest of film when switch to TV then back to soundbar. Will try agin in a day or two. 😊 But it's getting better. 😊 🇬🇧 It's would be nice if they could tweek the blooming a little if poss with a update. But that's a different chat. Will let you know when tried again.
