Colour temperature fault KDL-50W805C, Optical light fault
1. TV goes off with right colour temperature Expert 1
I turn it off , and, after 8 minutes I turn on the TV... It's gone, it's all bluish.
I have to manually change it in the menu or change to:
Another HDMI
TV
App.
Did two factory resets and I won't do no more!
This is incredible. It's a basic thing. The TV has to retain its color
Configuration. I've never seen anything like this in my entire life!
2. The red optical light of the toslink connector for audio on the back of the TV doesn't go off.
I am just wondering if this nice piece of engineering is always online...
Can anyone confirm to me that, after 8 minutes off, the red toslink light goes off on the back of the TV, please?
Thank you.

Hi there
In regards to the colour temperature - unfortunately this is an unresolved issue at this moment - see HERE
In regards to the optical LED light for the Toslink connectors - this is normal operation as far as i am aware.
Cheers

Thank you for your answer.
How can I contact Sony regarding this color temperature matter?
Also, about the toslink, I understand that during the TV operation it should be on, but, after its powered down, too? My kdl-55hx820 is from 2012, but after 8 minutes that one tiny red light from the toslink shuts off. Wasn't it supposed to be the same with this one? Can u verify that yours goes off after 8 minutes?
Thank you.

How are you seeing the red LED light anyway? The connector has a flap on it to protect against dust etc.
I cant verify if mine switches off - its a pain to move the TV out, and besides I use HDMI-ARC instead. To be honest, I think you are worring about nothing there.
In regards to contacting Sony about the colour temp bug - they are already aware of this issue. However you can contact Sony Support via this link:

hope tho, that a fellow member will verify this for me in a near future.
I'll patiently wait.
I understand that you use arc, but what I mean is, probably, if the toslink
is on, the whole TV might, too. It hasn't gone to " sleep".

I cant exactly remember the figure, but their are two stages of sleep for the TV - initially the TV will 'sleep' but after a period of time (i think its around 2hours) the TV will go into a deep-sleep mode.

time I'll wait 8 minutes plus 3 hours! Ha. Let's keep on playing. I guess
they build these things with this on their minds uh? " Let them play"...
Not.
Then, Elon Musk worried about A.I. robots overtaking humanity... Ye, right.
These ping-pong players can't even do a proper code, how about design death
robots....? LOL
Thank u for any answers tho. I'll be back later.

In fact, it did switch off but I can't recall. 2 or 3 hours. But it did turned off.
This leaves me with the colour temperature issue...

Cool - At least you can confirm that the LED does switch off in the TVs deep sleep mode
As I said above, theres not much more we can do about the Colour Temperature bug at this stage. Sony are aware of this issue, but no further firmware updates are planned until the roll-out of the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update, and there is no ETA as of yet.
Cheers
