Colour temperature fault KDL-50W805C, Optical light fault
1. TV goes off with right colour temperature Expert 1
I turn it off , and, after 8 minutes I turn on the TV... It's gone, it's all bluish.
I have to manually change it in the menu or change to:
Another HDMI
TV
App.
Did two factory resets and I won't do no more!
This is incredible. It's a basic thing. The TV has to retain its color
Configuration. I've never seen anything like this in my entire life!
2. The red optical light of the toslink connector for audio on the back of the TV doesn't go off.
I am just wondering if this nice piece of engineering is always online...
Can anyone confirm to me that, after 8 minutes off, the red toslink light goes off on the back of the TV, please?
Thank you.

here @ sony Community germany there are at least 2 reports about THIS certain bug
one is mine
it´s not a shame a firmware has such a bug,
its a shame for this company NOT fixing such an elementary function - really bad

two models. It's wide spread thru many models.
They do nothing. I hate to turn on this tv and have to change inputs so the
right color temperature shows up.
We talk here and people say " oh but they know. Oh but it's not worthy
talking to them" ... Seriously ?! Should ***** them every day!! This is
wrong. A basic picture function!!

i´m also convinced, this bug does have more model ranges....not only the w80c series
i owned so many TVs in years past, and i never had such a problem....
maybe we only misunderstand Sony firmware design
perhaps they think:

leave tv as is! So they don't notice because it's on neutral all the
time!!! Only us the home theater geeks do calibration and then we bump into
this. ... It's a everyday frustration!

do you have certain model ranges, where you can confirm THIS neutral colour temperature bug ??
by the way it´s pretty funny to see the cinema pro preset mode also suffers this bug.
*facepalm*

The quality of the build, the picture ... Everything has been dropping
anyway .
Most TVs made of plastic now... Ips panel. 60hz... total joke.

I didn't have that bug on v3.533 on my W75C as german thred suggest. This came with MM.
After reboot coolor is correct. After some standby time it is not. If I turn on TV I can see that's is wrong in my HOME screen or in settings but as soon as I switch to digital TV it switches to the right one.

it finds it self.
But it's bad! Because what if you turn on already on Blu-ray or channels??
I hate the bluish tone. Looks so cheap. Yuck! Makes this sad plastic tv
looks even worse

I know I had this problem before too. It would switch to Neutral color temp after deep sleep even though the settings still indicated Expert1. It had to be set again to take effect. I still had this on my "to check" list and due to many reports I tried to reproduce it yesterday.... but I failed... (I checked with a multimeter that the TV entered deep sleep)
So it either got fixed for my 4K HDR model in the meantime or it is just some race-condition which the Sony crap software on those TVs has plenty of.
