while looking for a 43" sony, and nearly settling on the 43XH8505, I came across a 43XH9196 which doesn't seem to appear on Sony's websites (other than a minor reference at the top of the XH85 page where 91 is in brackets).
It only appears on Currys websites and the only difference I can find is that Motionflow XR is 1000 Hz as opposed to 800hz.
A different model just for this? Could it be specific to Currys? They have the 8505 model as well for the same price.
thanks!
** One issue I am having is corrupt sound every now and then (to Sony ZF9 sound bar with wireless rears). It distorts sound from any source and I have to power cycle the tv to fix it.
Should probably inform Sony of this - Is there somewhere I can submit a bug without going through the ridiculous customer support "Have you tried turning it on and off again" route?
Appreciate any recommendations on whether this unit (I have received but not opened yet!) needs a soundbar, and if so, what recommendations you might have (I'm not an audiophile, just want clear dialogue in movies etc, which tv's these days are somewhat poor on). Thanks.
I tried to see if I could get by without a sound bar, but no, especially with films. Watching Star Wars in 4K Dolby Vision with default sound? No. I’ve only got a CT180 but makes such a difference.
also.
What is the difference between the XH85 and the XH80, and for that matter the XH81 as well.
Very confusing.
Have fun https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/8e1a114f19
basically XH80/XH81 are identical apart some aesthetic, XH85 is a 100Hz panel
thats thats really useful.
and as I understand it, unless you play video games 100hz is of no value to TV/Movie experience?
And for fast moving sport with Motionflow engaged. On a movie (often at 24fps) it is enough a 50/60 Hz panel. All of them are IPS type panel, to have a VA one you should go to XH90 and above
Except the 49XH8505 is VA?
So it seems looking at displayspecification.com , but we were talking about 43"
