So is there a trick to actually getting this free UHD movie redeemed?
I've been into the apps and there was an icon telling me I could get a free movie. I clicked it, clicked "Redeem" and I'm taken into the Google TV App. However there is no option to redeem the free movie.
I've been trying on and off for the past 2hrs now, have switched off and on the TV, checked for updates to the App - nothing. The "click here to reddem your free movie" is no longer on the "Home Page" and there is no option to redeem in the Google App.
Why oh why this couldn't be done via a voucher code or similar I don't know.
So what else can I try?

Out of interest has your TV performed any updates recently?
Just to say this has been escalated to check Sony are aware of this issue.
Other members have also reported this problem.

I have managed to resolve this via a workaround.
I went into the google play movies app on my android phone, and found the offer for the 4k movie right there.
Clicked it and it brought up the list of (mostly terrible) free 4k movies.
I selected the least horrible movie and went over to my TV.
After exiting and re-entering the google play movies app on the TV, I found the movie I had selected available to me in my library.
Would be interested in knowing if this worked for anyone else.
In my circumstance, I had never used the app on my phone before, so that may be a factor in my resolution.
PS: as I stated elsewhere, Sony support where awful and clueless on the phone, arguing about whether a googlemail email address is a valid google email address and suchlike and thought resetting my TV would be the best solution without even trying to check the issue I was trying to explain to them. It was a very cliched "turn it off and back on again" style of support.
My TV was left in a worse state than before I made the mistake of engaging that team on the phone.

Can I ask what TV you have and do you know what version of the
Google Play Movies and TV app you were using?
(Also could any other members reading that can't access the movie offer
let us know the same info?)

No idea what version of the app - presume the latest one given the Sony telephone support people reset everything back to factory default and then when I went into thr Play Store, all the apps updated themselves.

So no matter what I tried - just could not get the offer to appear on the TV.
I had a sudden thought and launched the app on my main PC in the house - option was there and I redeemed the movie that way.
Cannot see that being the desired way of doing it - but got there in the end.
Sony - vouchercodes next time please!
You managed a workaround via PC and I managed it via my Android phone.
So I guess the preferred method of accessing the offer via the TV is broken.
At least it's good to know there are workarounds - i.e. access the google play movies app via some other device.

As I mentioned before, Sony are investigating this for our members and any info helps.
Can you let me know which model TV you have and if possible do you know
the Movies and TV app version on the TV?
