KD-65XE9005 no Youview

Hi, I have the KD-65XE for a number of years. Is there any way I can enable Youview on this? Cannot find it anywhere and believe it was released to all Android TVs in 2015. Thanks

Try this:-

Press [Home] button on the remote control
    Go to 'Settings'
    Go to 'Channel Setup'
    Go to 'YouView Setup'
    Select 'Enable YouView'
    Select 'Yes' to confirm

Hi there,

Thanks for the below but I don't have the option "Youview setup" under Channel setup.

I know they changed how it works for recent sets. I was hoping yours was still like that, but maybe not.

Try this then:-

Sony don’t seem to be making it very easy to find YouView by not even calling it by its name, do they?

Morning,

So I have firmware 6.7140 installed. I don't have an icon or app for Live TV & Catch Up. I have searched apps and the only thing I can find in the app store is Live TV. This seems to be a google app and looks like a general EPG.

I had a look at channel setup and there is absolutely no mention of Youview anywhere in the sub-menus. Once you go into channel setup it asks you to select either analog or digital setup, selecting digital setup it just goes into channel scanning and tuning.

They don't make it half hard to locate this, do they 😞

Thanks

I believe YouView features in the Pie update have become this app mentioned by royabrown2.

Try holding the power button to restart the TV in case it was glitching and then try to use the shortcut as explained in this article. Hopefully this makes it easier.

Interesting,

I tried the article linked below but my screen is slightly different. When I go into "Watching TV" I don't have a "TV Button Shortcut" option. Is there a way I can download Android and do a fresh build? If I put the image in now I just get a message that it's already installed.

Thanks for the replies

Downgrading/re-upgrading is not possible as far as I know.

Maybe try resetting it to factory settings instead. It won't affect the software version, but if there's a corrupted file it should remove it.

Hi Jd,

Tried that, for some reason, the factory reset doesn't work anymore. I go into it and select it and the screen just goes back to the menu. Must be a bug in the build. Is there any other way like a shortcut key or press and hold something at boot that will enable me to re do the install?

Thanks

Not quite the same problem, but I can not do a reset factory via the menus.

There is a hard rest method which involves pressing some keys in the back of the set whilst plugging it in.
