"OK Google" doesn't work on new Bravia XR55A95K

I've had my XR55A95K since Tuesday.  The trouble is that saying 'OK Google' even speaking within 6 inches of the TV does nothing at all. There's no light coming on that it's 'heard' me.  Also when I go into devices menu there is nothing in there for the Bravia Cam which is directly plugged into the top/rear of the TV.

I reported it to Sony and they have said
'With reference to your enquiry, we're very sorry that this inconvenience has happened. Sony is investigating this with the utmost urgency. We acknowledge that this issue has been reported in the market and are evaluating countermeasures.
Once we have a solution, we will immediately contact you'

I am guessing from that wording that I'm not the only one who has a TV with this issue so surprised that I can't find any posts about it ?

Does anyone else have this issue ?

Well, this is strange.  It's working.

I happened to be scanning for a WiFi channel and pressed the Google button on the remote by accident and saw a prompt to enable Google assistant (or something like that - don't remember exactly what) so I enabled it and now

I can talk and my TV hears me - the light comes on and seems fine.

Hi @trevorrg22

It’s not something I would ever use, but have you switched on the mic. I believe that it is switched off by default. See  page 5 of the reference guide.  BUILT-IN MIC SWITCH: Turn on/off the built-in MIC. (It can be found by removing the side cover).

Hi, thanks for replying and thank you for mentioning that microphone switch.  I hadn't realised there was a switch on the back (switch at bottom in photo) and I think you are correct that it's switched off by default.  I did read that in the setup guide but switching on didn't make a difference.  I even did a complete factory reset on the TV incase it might detect something new but no luck there.
