I have tried a new HDMI 2.1 high speed cable, and whilst the picture has improved im still getting random flickers kind of a brief flash across the centre of the picture so im at a loss, maybe I will send tv back as its very irritating

Have you tried turning off MotionFlow?

Hi @pistuch

Try the following workaround, I heard it helps fix the issue temporarily:

  • Press the Settings button on the remote (Gear Icon)
  • Navigate left to the ‘Settings’ icon and press the OK button on the remote
  • Navigate down to ‘Display & Sound’ and press OK on the remote
  • Navigate to ‘Picture’ and press OK on the remote
  • Navigate down to ‘Motion’ and press OK on the remote to open this menu section
  • Use the arrow keys to change the setting ‘Motionflow’ to ‘Off

As a PC gamer myself, I have Motionflow switched of anyway as it hurts input lag. But that's alright because it's not really meant for gaming anyway.

P.S. Glad to see you could get your hands on a 3090, those are so hard to find atm!!

Do u have another device with hdmi connector like laptop or pc or mobile phone to try with hdmi 3 port?

U said that firestick was ok yes? Virgin box was ok on hdmi 1...yes? Hdmi1 is 2.0 hdmi3 is 2.1 and because u tried hdmi 2.1 cable (hope is real certified 8k hdmi 2.1) problem must be in virgin box...

All 4 hdmi inputs can run in normal or enhanced mode...try to change it between that 2 options.....cause we dont know what virgin box is it

Anywai hdmi3 is (eARC/ARC) try to use hdmi4 its same 2.1 except ARC

Hi, the virgin box was first plugged in HDMI 1 when I noticed the flash, I had the firestick in HDMI 3 and this was fine.

I then swapped the virgin box and firestick around and the flashing moved with it so I assumed the virgin box. To eliminate the cable I purchased an 8k HDMI 2.1 cable and used this on the virgin box, the picture has improved and the virgin box has put HD channels on 102,103,105 in place of sd channels. I have noticed the flicker a few times.

Hey, just to jump in here I am having the exact same issue - I have the KD-65XH9296 which is basically the same tv.

It happens to me on the Cinema picture setting which is unfortunately my favorite setting for watching most things. It doesn't happen on Game or when I'm playing on PS4 and it doesn't happen on Disney+ which changes the picture setting to Dolby. I have made sure I have completed the latest update.

Is this likely a TV fault or something that will be fixed with future updates? fox200323, did you manage to resolve the issue?

Also, just to state, my issue is exactly as described by fox200323 in the original post and is not like the video that pistuch posted.
