Sony AJ80

We bought this 77 inch OLED TV after we read lots of positive reviews back in June 2021 and after discussion with a Sony Rep at Curry’s. Initially it was fine and we were very happy with it. For the last month the TV has been randomly switching off. It has mainly been when we are watching anything with bright colours, when the picture flickers for a few seconds and the TV goes off. We then need to switch it on with the remote or sometimes by disconnecting everything and waiting for a few minutes. It is incredibly frustrating, especially since the TV is only 6 months old! Sony customer services seemingly come across helpful when you talk to them but in reality they have promised to call back within 24 hours or 48 hours or escalate to the manager and then they never call back! This has happened 5 times now! They have been completely useless in solving the problem. We have read that there are inherent problems with the technology used by Sony and they are probably avoiding us for that reason. Just wondering if anyone has any useful tips on how to fix this problem and raise a complaint externally to have this sorted? Sony have internally raised a complaint but I don’t have much faith to be honest. Thanks!

Regarding the issue, try the basics, SW update, FR, check with no external devices. If the issue still there that means the TV will need repair. Keep on Sony reps as you're definitely within warranty.

If you did buy it from Currys you have a 5 year warranty with them, you should therefore contact Currys

about the problem and get someone out to have a look.

When speaking to Sony if you gave them the serial number of your TV, they would have noticed

that you bought it from Currys and is under warranty with them, perhaps this is why they have not got back to you.
