Hi,i have just purchased a new Sony TA-AN 1000 which is excellent by the way, but one issue I am having is that when I turn on my TV ( a Sony XR -55A95L) , the amplifier turns on also, which of course is a nice feature to have sometimes, and as they are linked by the eARC HDMI port it I expected to happen. But most of the time I watch TV is without the amplifier being on, and as the TV has excellent sound in its own right, I don't really need it to come on every time I turn the TV on.
Is there a work around this so when I turn the TV on, the amp doe'snt power on and wake the whole house up ?
Thanks for taking the time to read my question.
Go into the settings of either the TV or the amp and turn off Bravia Sync.
While Bravia Sync is essential for ARC, it isn’t for eARC.
Mind you, my LG GX TV fights me tooth and nail if I try to do this…
I have a different Sony TV to yours but you may want to look into your Sound settings for Audio System Prioritisation, if you do not want your amplifier to turn on when you switch the TV on set this to off.
On my XR42A90K this setting can be found by pressing the Settings button on the remote control, then selecting Settings on screen. Clicking on Display and Sound> Audio Output> Audio system prioritisation.
As I say your TV may have a slightly different Settings menu system but hopefully you will find the setting
mentioned.
