Unable to start BBC iPlayer after watching Netflix

Hi

When, after watching either Amazon Prime or Netflix, I start BBC iPlayer (or ITV Hub, or All 4), the screen goes blank, then an error message ('An error has occurred. Please try again later') is displayed after 10-15s.

So, in order to watch BBC iPlayer I have to reboot the TV. I have a KD-49XE9005.

Is there any resolution to this?

Do you have the latest software version installed on your TV?

Hi

I have the most up-to-date version: PKG6.7140

Hi Jools1964 , do you have an aerial connected to get YouView services or a Setup Box ?

The TV is connected via an aerial to get broadcasts. But iPlayer comes through the internet connection.

You say ‘an error’.

 

It would be enormously helpful if you could say what the error is; not having this greatly impacts any help we might be able to offer.

The error is "An error has occurred. Please try again later"

 

That's it. The error is persistent until I restart the TV.

Try clearing the cached data (under Device Preferences - Storage - Internal Shared Storage - Cached data) then restart by holding power.

I've cleared the data cache several times. Restarting will load BBC iPlayer, however, after using another application BBC iPlayer no longer loads.

I feel the last resort is to do a factory reset.

Hi Jools1964, try to update the software first as it might be a software issue ( the latest version should be 6.7140 )
