XH9096 and HTX 8500 soundbar not detecting home theatre

Hi All,

Nothing has changed on my TV and Soundbar setup but all of a sudden TV isn’t picking up the soundbar in Home Theatre and not syncing. Sound still works but can’t control volume etc from the TV. This has all been working fine for a year+

steps done so far:

- power cycled both sound bar and TV

- unplugged HDMI both TV and Soundbar end

- checked still plugged into HDMI 3 ARC

So random how this has suddenly stopped working!

any help would be appreciated!

thanks

Hey crackerdooby, which remote are you using? And are you able to do other functions? On/Off etc?

Hi,

Im trying to use the TV remote. Previously when this was working turning on and off the TV would also turn on/off the sound-bar so worked seamlessly.

On further investigation it actually looks like its the Bravia Sync not working rather than this Home Theatre function (That must do something else)

Hey crackerdooby, that was my suspicion. Try re-configuring the Bravia Sync settings and let me know how it goes.

So after loads of fiddling, this is what I eventually done:

Turn off Bravia Sync and delete previous devices

Disconnect all HDMI devices

Power cycle the TV

Turn on Bravia Sync

Connect the sound bar only

Initially still didn't find the device

After some time later it eventually found it and now all working again

Something is really dodgy about Bravia Sync. But will see how stable it is now as had the same setup for over a year now before this problem and no issues.

Thanks

@ crackerdooby, glad to hear it worked. Keep an eye on it and let us know.

My question would be, do I have to turn off the TV to unplug the HDMI device?

@ Csabi1984, that's the safest procedure yes.
