30mm to 37mm step up ring - no thread on CX190E?

My old HDR-CX115E allowed me to use a 30mm to 37mm step up ring to attach Century lenses. New HDR-CX190E has no obvious thread? Fixed Lens is same type Carl Zeiss etc etc. Didn't realise when I bought it - is there a solution, please?

Hi Clarky, welcome to the Sony Forums

Unfortunately there are no threaded attachments available for that model. People have been known to 'engineer' their own threaded adpator onto them but it's difficult to keep things looking pretty: http://www.gethypoxic.com/reviews-tests-hacks/hacks-and-mods/90-cx200.html

It's something available on other models, but seems to be something excluded from consumer handycams these days.
