Hello high182 - welcome to the Sony Forums

The most up to date drivers for your camera are available here:

http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/DCR-TRV145E/downloads/usbdrven

However, there is no 'official' compatibility with Windows 7. This doesn't mean that your camera will not work though - you may need to purchase a Firewire adapter for your laptop such as this one:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/PCMCIA-Firewire-IEEE1394-Laptop-Expansion/dp/B000OQA8AC

You may find it easier to get a USB/Firewire adapter - there is a range of them available on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=firewire+to+usb+adaptor&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid...

You may also find that you get good results by using Windows Live Movie Maker 2011. It is free software that may already be installed as part of your Windows 7 setup but if you don not have it yet, it can be found here.

Thanks,

Simon

Hello again

Other than installing a Firewire adapter on your PC, it may be worth considering installing Windows XP on a seperate partition on your hard drive (this can be done if you have a copy of the CD and a valid licence key from a previous machine). You can store the imported video files in a folder that is accessible from both operating systems.

Thanks,

Simon
