Hi slimmers, welcome to the Sony Forums
Older mini-DV cameras used USB drivers written for operating systems available when they were released. A few drivers were updated but eventually new OS developments have meant all the old versions are now obsolete.
The best workaround is to use the i-Link connection (DV-out) on the camera with a firewire cable. You'll need a firewire port on your PC; if it doesn't have one they're quite inexpensive and easy to fit.
Cheers
Mick
