How do I remove all displays from the display screen on a sony HDR-CX550VE

I have downloaded some content to a DVD, only to find that some of the on-screen display is showing on playback.

Not all the display is showing, just the part to the bottom right hand side which shows:   AUTO    50  AWB   and F1.8   18dB

I have refferred to the manual without success.

How do I get rid of that part of the display?

Thanks

Hello battyhouse - welcome to the Sony Forums

These items are referred to as the 'Data Code' and the settings for displaying these on the camera are located by pressing:

MENU --> Show Others --> Playback Set (under Playback category) --> Data Code

Once you are in the 'Data Code' menu you can then activate or de-activate whichever display elements you wish. This is explained in more detail at the top of page 24 in the manual which is located here if you do not have your paper copy to hand.

Hope this helps,

Simon

Simon,

Many thanks for the advice, I have now switched it off!

My problem was not understanding that it was 'data code'.

Again many thanks
