Hi
I would liek some advice on live streaming. I have previously streamed two sony camcorders onto a single laptop via dv cables into custom software for video tagging purposes (the software uses leadtools). This was possible because previously most laptops had a dv port and a pc card slot so another dv port could be added, and camcorders usually had dv cable functionality. Now that both camcorders and and laptops are moving away from DV i have 2 questions:
1. what is the best practice for live streaming using a single camcorder?
2. is it possible to do it wth 2 camcorders? i have seen that it is potentially possible using an HDMI input card, but most laptops would only have one slot for this, limitting the method to one camcorder.
thanks
John
Hi John,
You do not say what is your current computer that you have at the moment that you are
trying to put 2 signals from separate dual camcorders into your software. If you have a modern
Side entry PC express card input, you can try a dual firewire express card to feed 2 signals in
as long as your memory and computer processor is fast enough to handle the recording load.
