Hi,
I know that the actual settings on the camcorder are 9, 17, and 24Mbps, but I was wondering whether there was a way of changing the firmware or anything so that I can film in let's say, 3Mbps?
Thanks in advance,
Tomas
Hi tomasfrohawk.
What camera are you talking about?
Does it have a MP4 setting?
I think you had a HDR-SR10E which can record HD/FH at 16, 9, 7 or 5 Mbps or SD/HQ at 9, 6, or 3 Mbps.
The NEX-VG10E has a lot more pixels (14M instead of 4M) and because of this, the minimum HQ bitrate appears to be 9 Mbps.
I am terribly sorry I forgot to include what camera I am talking about, it's the NEX VG10! It does not have a MP4 setting which is a big negative for me as I have to convert from .m2ts to .mp4. I have about 3TB of recorded video from NEX-VG10 and as you probably understand this is taking up a lot of space, even with the 9Mbps setting.
