I have a Sony DCR-TRV340e trying to find how to make it work on windows 10 can any body help please
Hello @Carracer,
if you still have the AV-cable (RCA output - yellow=video / red/white=audio), you can use a "video capture card" together with any video editing software to "import" the video (in realtime) to your computer.
Unfortunately getting firewire to work under Win10 is very complicated, so I do advise to go with the workaround described above.
I personally really like the ease of use of the following product by "Magix": https://www.magix.com/gb/video-editing/rescue-your-videotapes/
Don't get confused by the name containing the term "videotapes" - the capture card works with every device which has a RCA output, so your camcorder is supported as well as for example old gaming consoles.

Thank you for the information I will look into it and will let you no if it works
Thanks Carracer.

Hey Carracer,
I cannot find your model in the compatible ones with windows 10 from this link:
https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00124441
But, I would recommend checking these 2 links, it basically got all the info:

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/camcorders-and-video-cameras-tape-camcorders/dcr-trv340e/...
In case none of that worked out for you, I'd say that the last thing you could try is using a capture card.
Of course you're gonna need to buy one first 😁.
Cheers.
