Hello tapler - Welcome to the Sony Forums

Aside from the official manual which can be downloaded here:

http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4422590112.pdf

On the USA support site there is an online user guide that may be more helpful to you in terms of the specific shooting modes. This can be viewed here:

http://esupport.sony.com/docs/dvimag/DSCHX200_HX200V_guide/en/index.html

In particular, on the left hand side there is the link 'Using MENU Items (Shooting) which should be of interest to you.

Thanks,

Simon

Thanks Simon . . . . .you're a star!!

This is exactly what I was looking for, I have sony cameras A900, A850 and macro and 500mm lens for wildlife and on our U3A group Holidays carrying all this kit plus tripod makes it difficult (and I look a little nerdy!!!). With this camera I am hoping to get the complete range of images and video at high quality with a camera that fits into my coat pocket. Attached is a few images I have taken wih the hx200v so far.

It's a great little camera . . .I'm now off to tryout photographing some wild barn owls and a Kestrel with this camera . . .thankyou again Simon for your help!wayland woods 5.jpgwayland woods 12.jpgwayland woods 7.jpg

Hello Simon

Your help and guidance has been supurb . . . . I'm now getting great results from the camera

Another question please . . .

I have both A900 and A850 cameras with the remote facility with which I use the Sony RMT-DSLR1 a lot

Is it possible to use this remote with the Sony DSC-fx200V too?

Chris

Hello

Unfortunately, the HX200v isn't on the list of compatible devices for this remote control:

http://www.sony.co.uk/product/dsa-other-accessories/rmt-dslr1#/Compatibles

It is mainly an accessory for the DSLR and NEX cameras.

Thanks,

Simon

You have 3 options to get the 340 approx pages.

Read online  at sony

Buy pdf file from USA for $5

Buy a really handy manual for £15

the printed manual is a great pocket friend.

Your insect closeups are quite good.  I'm still experimenting with the macro setting which seems a bit fussy.  Did you use the manual or the auto-focus when you snapped these photos?  Are you using a tripod or were these hand held shots?
