DSC-HX200V 'white-out' when using miniature picture effect

I have just started having problems when using the miniature picture effect, whcih is one of my favourites. The image on the screen is in full colour, but when I depress the shutter button the whole screen 'bleaches' and the image itself has no colour in it. Any advice on how to rectify this would be appreciated.

In the end I phoned Sony Customer Support were an agent talking me through restoring the factory settings which has solved the problem. Like any computer, turn it off and turn it back on again is inevitably the answer
