ICD-P620

I have a Sony ICD-P620 tape recorder.  These are very widely sold, so I am really surprised not to find a category devoted to Sony Recorders.  Anyway, at the top is has two sockets a) for headphones b) for recording.  When I plug a microphone into the recording socket, the ICD-P620 auto-pauses itself.  How can I prevent this behaviour?

Hi Matthew,

Welcome to the community.

I'll see if I can find this out for you. Maybe someone else in the community can help in the meantime.

Thanks,

Pascale

Hi MatthewPollock,

I would imagine that this bevaior could be due to the jack not being firmly plugged in. Could you check if the Mic is plugged in correctly? Maybe you can also try a different Mic to test if it's going to be the same.

I have tried a couple of jacks, and the result is the same.  The firm insertion of the jack is what CAUSES the problem.  So no, I am afraid this does not solve the problem.

Hi again,

In this case, it could be the port itself that's causing the problem. I'd recommend that you check with your retailer if they can help.
